Despite long lead times for new brown kraftliner prices – i.e. from May in isolated cases, contracts in June and agreements starting on 1 July – higher prices are gradually finding traction on the market but there is no end in sight for the ongoing negotiations in the first week of July. The long-drawn negotiations revolve around a renewed increase of €10-20/t over and above a widely accepted hike of €20/t, which will take the total hike amount to €30-40/t, respondents told EUWID. Unbleached kraftliner producers are optimistic and expect support from renewed negotiations for recycled corrugated case material.
