Germany: sharp corrections to prices of brown sack kraft paper in Q2

Unsatisfactory conditions for producers continued in the second quarter on the German market for sack kraft paper.

In fact, converters call off paper at even shorter notice, "because paper sack buyers place orders based on their own orders, making planning more difficult,” as one EUWID respondent complained. Moreover, high inventories built up in the last year were still not depleted by the second quarter, so demand for paper was correspondingly weak.

Confirming market signals from the end of the first quarter, price corrections were undertaken from April to June, which turned out to be much sharper for brown sack kraft paper than for white grades.
