Developments in the market for standard commodity plastics were complex in January. On the one hand, individual EUWID respondents reported continued subdued demand from converters at the start of the year, particularly in the first half of the month. Many had only put their production facilities back into operation in the second week of January. Demand from customers for plastic products was also often restrained and incoming orders were therefore quiet.
