Availability of PET virgin material was unproblematic at the end of March and shortly before restocking starts for the beverage season. “As long as there are no forces majeure declared, there will be material. It’s all just a question of price,” said one market participant, looking back at the last few months. Some companies believed that material had been available in recent weeks as well, despite tighter availability of PET from Asia, but that European manufacturers had held back volumes in expectation of rising prices....
