A breath of fresh air has reached France’s cartonboard market. After price cuts were the only talking point all 2023 long, this topic has now been largely consigned to the history books.
Indeed, price increases for GD board are actually under discussion again in France and throughout Europe. No such plans are afoot for GC board to date, though.
In February, there was not much discussion about lowering cartonboard prices. Customers were still trying to secure price cuts now and again. However, manufacturers were no longer willing to compromise after reducing their prices in January or during the fourth quarter and dismissed calls for additional mark-downs.
